Regional Planning Manager

At Kraton, we make a Positive Difference, and we are looking for individuals who are also looking to make a difference in their jobs, for our customers and to the world.  We are looking to hire a key member of our Operations team in Almere, Netherlands.  As a new member of our team you will be responsible for balancing demand and supply while optimizing inventory and assets. 

This position will be responsible for planning activities across specific region including demand, supply and inventory.  Through working with cross functional teams, this role will align demand with supply plans, drive manufacturing execution, and manage distribution of the resulting inventory while minimizing supply chain risks to avoid any potential for supply disruption. The role will track and report progress against Regional planning KPI's. This position will build and maintain key collaborative relationships with manufacturing- Commercial, Finance and Supply Chain colleagues.  This role will report to the Global Planning Manager. 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the regional S&OP meetings; prepare all data and metrics to identify gaps and scenarios, guide final decision making on scenarios, strategic initiatives and cost/profit trade-offs, and prepare escalations for executive review where appropriate.
  • Responsible for supply management of regional segment specific business product lines, with accountability for maximizing contribution margin through asset, demand and product optimization, and new product introduction and new product supply chain risk assessments
  • Provide direction to the regional Supply Chain Execution teams.
  • Provide tactical direction with the sales and marketing team, to ensure the demand consensus process delivers an agreed upon forecast accuracy.
  • Recommend and maintain optimal inventory levels at various stages in the supply chain in order to achieve customer satisfaction levels as well as mitigate inventory exposure.
  • Support/maintain forecasts and manage links between systems for forecasting, master production scheduling, inventory management and product development utilizing various systems such as APO and SAP.
  • Manage all associate network change projects including material SKU changes, special requirements, network locations, and new product introductions.
  • Lead and participate in process improvement projects. 
  • Collaborate with other parts of the company and become a strategic partner with the entire organization. 
  •  Drive accountability and process improvements.
  •  Ensure continuous learning with respect to supply chain developments.
  •  Responsible for the evaluation and development of their team members.

Required Skills

  • More than 10 years of experience in supply chain including production planning
  • SAP knowledge an asset
  • Demonstrate clear commitment to factors affecting HSE
  • Chemical background is a plus
  • Team player, self-starter, ability to work and build cooperation in a multinational team / matrix organization
  • Strong analytical skills, with a working knowledge of basic statistics and Six Sigma methodologies and intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Proven ability to work in a high performance environment
  • Ability to perform all duties in an accurate, timely and professional manner within the guidelines of established company procedures and policies, while maintaining a flexible approach to enforcing those policies
  • Ability to work with all levels throughout Kraton
  • Position sits in Almere, Netherlands

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • University graduates preferable in business administration, logistics & supply chain operations or relative discipline.
  • APICs certification or similar planning certifications
