Control Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Applies technical principles, theories, and concepts
• Provides technical solutions to a wide range of problems
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments
• Plans and conducts assignments including large and complex projects
• Able to solve complex operating issues through collaboration with peers and the assistance of direct reports or management
• Manages small to intermediate size project teams
• Defines the scope and objectives of projects based on operational needs
• Provides direction to junior engineers and evaluates their work
• Determines scope, budget, and timeline of projects, understanding the profitability impacts of projects and manages accordingly
• Owns the financial results of assigned projects in functional areas and influences others to do the same
• Development and design of control systems
• Produce and update electrical schematics
• PLC/HMI hardware / software design, programming, and troubleshooting
• Providing internal feedback to the Controls & Electrical group on potential product improvements and new opportunities
• Provide controls engineering support plant wide 
• Provide support to the maintenance/operations team in equipment troubleshooting to reduce/eliminate downtime

Required Skills

• 5+ years control systems engineering experience
• Prior experience successfully leading support of production issues for both new and existing equipment
• Experience in successfully maintaining equipment controls and electrical systems to support manufacturing    
• Knowledge and capability to use advanced systemic and creative problem solving skills
• Ability to relate well with various employees groups and present information to various audiences, adapting style as necessary
• Supervisory and project management experience

Education, Certifications & Licenses

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering with electrical or control systems engineering preferred.
