Key Responsibilities
- Job requires a skilled engineer who has demonstrated the ability to diagnose develop and implement solutions to novel issues in a manufacturing unit.
- Applies advanced technical first principles, theories and concepts.
- Contributes to the optimization of existing processes and development of new ones.
- Primary role is to identify and implement the best available technology for new capital projects. Ability to work with vendors, write RFQ’s and where necessary conduct process trials. This includes commissioning and start up. Must have the ability to also develop and manage some small capital projects as well.
- Self directed with the ability to recognize optimization opportunities, economically assess them and lead implementation in coordination with the manufacturing and commercial teams.
- Stay up to date with changes in the engineering technology and identify new technologies that can be applied in manufacturing facilities.
- Regularly called upon to lead multiple and intermediate level projects.
- Frequent contacts with internal personnel and at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling or specific phases of engineering projects or contracts.
- Ability to communicate clearly, mentor introductory level engineers, and contribute to knowledge management by teaching others.
- Lead, determine scope, budget and timeline of intermediate sized projects
Required Skills
- 20+ years of experience in engineering or related field.
- Must have experience in a chemical plant with polymers.
- Ability to successfully lead teams and projects.
- Process modeling tools such as Aspen, Pipe Flo.
- Language skills other than English a plus specifically German or French.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field, advanced degree preferred.
