Chemical Process Engineer III - Belpre, OH

At Kraton, we make a Positive Difference, and we are looking for individuals who are also looking to make a difference in their jobs, for our customers and to the world.  We are looking to hire a key member of our Process Engineering team at our Belpre, OH location.  This is an onsite role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design and implement manufacturing processes for new product-development projects in a pilot-plant setting and preparing for commercial-scale production
• Propose, lead and report on manufacturing test runs and process-improvement projects
• Produce R&D and market-development samples and reports for internal and external customers
• Influence or conduct experiments in labs, pilot plant, tollers and commercial plants
• Enable Management of Change initiatives using chemistry and engineering tools

Required Skills

• Practical, in-plant application of reaction engineering and mass & energy balances in chemical process operations
• Practical knowledge of data modeling using Aspen Process Explorer tool suite
• Working knowledge of distributive process control systems
• Design and troubleshooting of process equipment from pilot up to commercial scale
• Demonstrated coordination of small projects that succeeded in production plants
• Proven written communications to broad range of R&D and MFG personnel
• Experience with API 521 - Pressure-relieving and Depressuring systems highly desired
• Experience with ASME B31.3 - Process Piping

Education, Certifications & Licenses

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering is required for this role.
• 7 -10 yrs. of relevant experience in Chemical Engineering with at least 3 of those years being in a chemical plant
• PE Professional Engineer License a plus
• PMP - Project Management Professional certification a plus
