As Product Steward, you will influence and act as a change agent as the Quality partner for manufacturing units, commercial organization, customers, Quality Control lab and R&D centers, owning product grading and specifications, actively supporting Quality KPI improvements and the customer complaint process while driving Quality continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

For assigned units:

  • Quality interface and troubleshooting support with/to manufacturing units, the commercial organization, the Quality Assurance lab and analytical team and the Kraton Innovation Center product/process stewards
  • Product grading in cooperation with release clerks
  • Quality focal point for preparing, executing and follow-up of test runs
  • Quality KPI owner
  • Special Quality Request (SQR)/Special Service Request (SSR) review and approval
  • Packaging specification and raw material specification development, review and approval
  • Initiate Process & Product Definition changes, own reviews and approve through the Management of Change process
  • Customer interface for quality topics including SQR/SSR
  • Participate in complaint resolution process
  • SAP Quality Management set-up and revisions, including sales specifications and Certificate of Analysis alignment
  • On-hold, sample and aged inventory review
  • Assisting product transitions
  • Active participant in ISO9001, FDA/GMP management systems
  • Product Data documentation review and approval

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of Kraton products & applications
  • Experience within ISO9001 and GMP management systems
  • Change agent 
  • Ability to influence others and work with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, able to work independently with a minimum of supervision
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Required Travel, <10-15% 

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in science or engineering field
  • Five years or more experience in polymer/manufacturing industry and customer interfacing
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Access data base and statistical understanding & use of tools such as Minitab are preferred
