The purpose of the IT Security Analyst role is to protect Kraton’s digital assets and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. This role will be required to monitor networks and systems for security breaches, anomalies, and vulnerabilities. The security analyst will operate and monitor logs, computer systems, intrusion detection systems, network devices, and firewalls to prevent unauthorized access. They will investigate security incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions. This role will also collaborate with Senior IT Security Analyst, threat researchers, and external cyber defense teams to remediate risks and vulnerabilities within Kraton’s digital environment.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with incident response teams to mitigate risks and minimize impact.
  • Conduct research and provide leadership updates regarding attempts/efforts to compromise security protocols.
  • Review security systems and assess security policies that control access to systems.
  • Provide status updates and recommendations to the leadership regarding the impact of theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information.
  • Provide support for regulatory and compliance activities related to information security activities. 
  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
  • Perform other administrative, functional, and technical tasks as needed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in Information Security, Incident Response and Detection, Cyber Threat Hunting, or Threat Intelligence.
  • Direct experience performing threat detection in an active corporate environment.
  • Training in Incident Response, incident reporting, and mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge, experience, and understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework. 
  • Experience analyzing system, network, and application logs for attack techniques at all stages of the cyber kill chain.
  • Experience with more than one or more enterprise scale EDR and SIEM tool.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience educating employees on security awareness, phishing prevention, and safe practices.

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cyber Security or related field of study from an accredited college/university or requisite years of experience is required.
