Key Responsibilities

  • Manages payroll staff who processes the bi-weekly, monthly and supplemental, multi-state payroll for 1200+ employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ensure all employee data changes are processed accurately and timely.
  • Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time in line with federal, state and company requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, labor agreements, procedures and regulatory agencies by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Partners with Sr. Manager Global Payroll to drive continuous improvement via ongoing global process evaluations and assessments.
  • Manage projects to develop streamlined payroll procedures and compliance with global controls for change management and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Oversee month end and year end closing process payroll including YTD earnings, W-2's, etc. and prepare reports for reconciliation.  
  • Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.
  • Oversee internal and external audits including; SOX, 401k, governmental, R&D and workers compensation.
  • Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly and year end reports.
  • Own existing payroll systems and lead system integrations/ reviews and tasks associated with new company acquisitions.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
  • Other projects as assigned by management.

Required Skills

  • 5 + years’ experience minimum.
  • Experience with Dayforce, UKG and SuccessFactor preferred.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Proficient Excel Skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity and trust.
  • Pro-active/priority setting/time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present clear and well documented findings and recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of internal controls, policies, procedures.

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficient in English is essential
  • Communication skills verbal and written
