We are looking to hire a key member of our Technical team at Niort, France. 

As Process Engineer reporting to the Technical Manager, you are leading Capital Projects and Continuous Improvement initiatives to support the Niort plant. 

Key Responsibilities

Safety

  • Provide role model leadership for Safety culture and behaviors.
  • Support facility needs during safety or environmental related emergency events.

Process

  • Read, interpret, and analyze data in the light of scientific principles, theories, and concepts to support decision-making and help the plant to meet its goals of Safety, Quality, Availability and Productivity.
  • Manage process for prioritizing and completing improvement activities for the plant with the help of production support team.
  • Solve complex operating issues through effective collaboration and coordination with local and global Kraton resources.
  • Start up new equipment and train production operators. Maintain high process performance and availability of new or existing equipment.

Projects

  • Determine or contribute to define the scope, budget and schedule of Continuous Improvement, Debottlenecking, Risk Reduction or Cost-out initiatives. Manage/arbitrate between parameters to meet established project goals.
  • Work with project teams & Corporate procurement to develop good cost estimates and to get best price, quality and timing on equipment and/or contracted services. This includes formalizing scopes of work, evaluating bidders and reviewing of contractual documentation.
  • Lead assigned projects for the plant, facilitate all phases of the project until completion after the necessary capital or non-capital approvals are granted.
  • Create and maintain projects spending forecasts and report out to the appropriate stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Field experience with a proven track record of successful hardware or software process enhancements through continuous improvement and/or capital projects. 
  • Self-directed and work autonomously to provide solutions to a wide range of problems. Exercise considerable latitude in how to achieve objectives.
  • Comfortable working with conflicting priorities and having a variety of roles on a daily basis.
  • Effective Communications Skills (verbally, written, presentation) both in French and in English.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Statistical tools and/or SAP are a plus.

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • University Education in Chemical/Process Engineering, ideally 5 years.
  • 10 years of combined experience in the field of Process Design, Manufacturing and/or Project Management.

 

  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus
  • Lean Six Sigma belt is a plus
  • PIX certification is a plus
