Assistant Production Manager - Panama City, FL (On-Site)

 The Production Manager at the site is responsible for managing the production activities of a plant or business unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that Safety should be always the first concern in all activities executed and above anything.
• Drive the optimization of production throughput/outputs and product quality.
• Sponsor for the work processes Asset Operation & Asset Improvement – within these, is responsible to support the activities and integrate with the others work processes and areas.
• Ensure a full coordination between the Production, Operations, Business, and the Supply Chain area to achieve the targets & goals, always seeking to improve on the operations. 
• Coordinate the work done by his team, ensuring that the strategic manufacturing guidelines for the plants are followed.
• Ensure costs management and control, aligned with the Finance guidelines.
• Set and achieve S.M.A.R.T. targets & goals in key performance areas including HSE, Quality, Production, and Cost according the Business direction.
• Lead, develop, coach and evaluate process engineers, production supervisors, and other production employees (hourly and salaried).
• Ensures all team members are current on required job training and qualifications.
• Actively participate as a member of the plant’s Lead Team.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of chemical industry experience with some background in distillation and/or polymerization.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong team player.
• Lean Six Sigma experience.
• Operations experience.
• Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Capacity to identify, develop and implement improvements / changes.
• Experience in a PSM covered facility.
• Union experience preferred.

Education, Certifications & Licenses

• Bachelors or higher Degree in Engineering – Preference Production, ChE or ME
