Key Responsibilities

  • The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for analysis on in-process samples from the plant
  • Responsible for troubleshooting/calibrating all equipment in the QC Lab.
  • Responsible for water analysis from the plant.
  • Responsible for management of the plant ISO 9001 program.
  • Prepare certificate of analysis (COA) for shipments.
  • Approve raw material by the use of Purchasing Approval System.
  • Assist with the coordination of sample analyses from outside sources.
  • Meet all OTIF (On Time/In Full) objectives within your control. 
  • Communicate results thoroughly within the Quality Department and with other departments.
  • Conduct routine final shipment analyses.   
  • Communicate with Operations on quality matters. 
  • Work with Plant Chemists and Quality Manager to track, report, & improve key quality indicators for laboratory compliance and efficiency.
  • Report instrumentation issues and remove faulty instruments from service until a disposition can be made on the instrument.
  • Participate in the internal auditing process and Gage R&R studies to identify training opportunities.
  • Interact with the plant’s EHS Department to ensure the proper disposal of chemical waste and general compliance with applicable policies.

Required Skills

  • 0 to 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Prior work experience in a QC Laboratory; preference will be given to individuals with work experience in a chemical manufacturing setting.
  • ISO 9001 experience preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Education, Certifications & Licenses

  • High School diploma with the equivalent combination of advanced education and work experience required.
  • An accredited Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology preferred.
