Key Responsibilities

The HR Business Partner I performs HR duties at the Administrative and Professional level supporting the Sr. HR Manager. 
The key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following: 
Partners with employees and management to communicate and give guidance on various Human Resources activities, policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations. 
Investigates employee relations issues including, but not limited to, employee complaints, policy violations, grievances, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints. 
Conducts exit interviews for designated personnel, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement. 
Creates, facilitates, and/or provides training to the workforce. 
Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs. 
Administers and councils employees in the performance management process as well as goal and objective development. 
Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, administrative and technical job openings (hourly and salaried non-exempt). 
Reviews applications and interviews hourly and salaried non-exempt applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements. 
Maintains working relationship with Union officials and adheres to terms of labor agreement by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions.
Represents management in the intake and initial investigation of grievances in the 1st Step of the grievance process, ensures adherence to time limits and coordinates the scheduling grievance hearings between union personnel, supervisors and the Management team. 
Assists with the documentation of future grievances steps. 
Maintains grievance file and historical log.
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
Recommend new approaches to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed. 
Maintains and makes appropriate employee related changes in the HRIS system and local files.
Maintains and coordinates employee and community relations programs.
Conducts new hire HR onboarding and coordinates onboarding schedule.
Retention and engagement of employees.
Developing and maintaining effective labor/management relations programs and policies.
Effectively managing and transitioning between administrative and professional level support responsibilities while meeting the varying deadlines for each.
Customer support to a wide variety of personnel, ranging from front line to executive-level personnel.
Act as a key business partner for facility supervision and management. 
Identifying and keeping HR Manager and other key business partners informed of potential labor and employee relations concerns.
Meeting AAP/Diversity goals.
Company and Employee Advocate.

Required Skills

2- 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge of HR basics related to the Major Duties of this role is a pre-requisite

Experience preferred in a manufacturing environment, employee or labor relations, employee engagement, leadership development, and training
