Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
- Review and supervise the preparation of IFRS and local GAAP income tax accruals for foreign entities assigned including reconciliation of deferred taxes and tax accounts.
- Review and calculate uncertain tax position under IFRIC 23 for foreign entities.
- Manage and review minimum tax requirements (local tax, Korean CFC and Pillar II) for assigned entities
- Manage and review local country tax work to include:

- local country compliance
- estimated tax payments for foreign income taxes
- local country audits and notices
- internal inquiries regarding various tax related matters
- credit and other beneficial opportunities
- step in as needed to help prepare if necessary
- Assist with technical tax research and analysis.
- Assist in identifying and capturing process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain tax calendar.
- Work with staff to develop goals and objectives and provide performance feedback.
- Manage consultants and tax preparers on projects.
- Assist with team deadlines.
- Deliver honest, constructive feedback to staff.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of experience in a large corporate tax environment - Big 4 firm experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in project management and improvement projects.
- Solid local tax experience and technical skills.
- Transfer pricing experience is a plus.
- Ability to lead a group of professional employees:
- Capable of developing solid goals and objectives including “stretch goals”
- Capable of delivering honest, constructive feedback to staff.
- A good teacher.
- Capable of identifying and capturing process improvement opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work well with others and under minimal supervision
- Be able to perform technical research, and willing to teach staff how to perform technical research.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which requires prioritization and ability to multi-task.
- Highly self-motivated; takes initiative; identifies and addresses issues; works efficiently with attention to detail.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
- Masters in Taxation or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA or equivalent preferred
